An introduction to print-making

Saturday 16th May 2015, 9.30am – 4.30pm

Forty Hall Farm, Forty Hill, Enfield EN2 9HA

Led by printer Will Dyke, our ‘Introduction to Print-Making’ course will teach you how to design and carve your own lino or wood printing blocks, to produce a collection of unique and original prints on paper.

You can use Forty Hall Farm and the surrounding landscape as inspiration, or your own sketchbook, photos or cuttings as ideas for your print. You will learn to design the image and transfer it onto a block, use cutting tools to carve the image, and practice mark making techniques. You will then print your own block by hand to produce a set of prints in black and white or colour. Tools and materials will also be available to purchase at the workshop for you to continue printing at home.

Will Dyke studied at Harrow College, University of Westminster and at West Dean College. He prints on an old Cropper Charlton press, producing limited edition prints, using the methods of wood cut and lino cut. Much of his artwork is inspired by rural life and history. Places are £55 per person. The course fee includes an organic lunch and refreshments.
