Friday 23rd October 2015, 10am – 1pm
Join us this autumn for a foraging walk, taking in the fields and woodlands of Forty Hall Farm and discovering just how many wild treats the countryside has to offer.
The walk will involve safely picking and eating a variety of leaves, berries, roots and shoots, as well as opportunities to sample new foods and drinks made with wild ingredients.
You will also learn to identify and pick edible species of mushroom, discussing the different types of fungi and the roll they play in the forest, as well as looking at how to recognize and avoid the poisonous varieties. The walk will include discussion on everything from nutrition and medicine, to history, botany and cookery!
The walk will last about three hours and will be led by John Rensten of Forage London. John is an experienced forager and wild food enthusiast. When he’s not running foraging walks around the streets and parks of London, John can be found mushroom hunting in the New Forest or combing the seashore of Dorset.
Places are £40 per person, plus an online booking fee. Refreshments will be provided and there are a maximum of fifteen places on the walk.
