We are recruiting! Seasonal grower opportunity

Forty Hall Farm is recruiting a seasonal grower to work two days a week, helping to run our market garden. The post will be based at Forty Hall Farm in Enfield, for a six-month period running from the beginning of spring to autumn 2018.

We began to establish our market garden in 2013. Working on nine acres, mostly outdoors with a small amount of polytunnel space, we produce a wide range of salads and vegetables which are sold through our veg bag delivery scheme (Enfield Veg Co.), our onsite farm shop, and wholesale – to local cafes and retailers.

The role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to help with day-to-day growing tasks. The position will be two days a week (either Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday), from 08.30 to 17.00 with an hour for lunch. We are looking for someone to begin in March 2018 for six months.

The main tasks of the job will be:

  • To assist with a wide range of growing tasks including seed sowing, planting out, weeding, plant care and harvest.
  • To work independently and as part of the market garden team on the above tasks.
  • To occasionally help with the packing of our weekly veg bags, as and when support is needed.
