Volunteers at our community vineyard have been celebrating this week, having been awarded Green Business of the Year at the Enterprise Enfield awards.
The Green Business of the Year Award rewards and promotes the hard work of local organisations and businesses which demonstrate an active commitment to good environmental practice and promote sustainable development. The Vineyard intends to spend the £1000 prize money on horse-drawn machinery.
The Award marks the end of an exciting year for the vineyard. Despite the challenges of the hot, dry summer, September saw our first ever grape harvest. Over 500kg of grapes were successfully harvested and are currently fermenting in at Davenport Vineyards in Sussex. More information about the Vineyard, including how you can get involved, is available on their website.
