With three days to go before our Big Jubilee Lunch, the Farm is a hive of activity. Signs are being painted, the bunting’s being hung and our collection of pallets is being transformed into a make-shift stage.
The Big Lunch is an annual event, which encourages people to have street parties with their neighbours. The residents of Goat Lane in Forty Hill have celebrated the Big Lunch before but this year the party is moving up Forty Hill to the Farm.
As well as the Big Lunch, the party we have will lots of children’s activities planned, a local quiz, a cake competition and talent competitions. A host of local bands have also agreed to play at the event for free.
The party has been organised by local residents and has been a real community effort. Tickets have been flying out of the Village Wholefood Shop, which has acted as the centre for all the party planning.
Doors open at 12pm and we will be sitting down to eat at 1pm. Bands start at 6pm and we will be calling it a night at 11pm. For more information about the Big Jubilee Lunch, which is open to all local residents, please contact Kate McGeevor (07912 327936; firstname.lastname@example.org).
