An introduction to forest gardening

12th October 2013

Forest gardens are sometimes described as edible food forests. This one day course will help you get to grips with the principles of designing your own forest garden. With the focus on urban scale gardens, participants will leave with ideas and inspiration to try their own forest garden projects. A back garden and one tree is all you need to get started! The course includes:

  • Key design principles
  • Useful plant species to use
  • How to create a ‘guild’
  • Practical design exercises
  • A tour of our newly planted forest garden at Forty Hall Farm

The course will be taught by arboriculture experts and permaculture enthusiasts from Capel Manor College.

Places are £50 per person, plus a £3.65 booking fee. The course fee includes an organic lunch and all refreshments, and there are a maximum of ten places.
