There is an old saying that the month of March ‘comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb’. Not this year! Instead, March came in like a lamb too, with the arrival of our first lamb of the season. Born to a Jacob’s ewe, the little black lamb is healthy and doing well.
In total, we’re expecting more than 50 new lambs to arrive over the coming weeks. Our sheep are brought indoors for the lambing period, so we can keep a close eye on them. Although it means lots of sleepless nights for the Farm staff, lambing is one of the most rewarding periods of the year on the Farm.
On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March, we’ll be introducing our new lambs to the world at our annual Lambing Weekend. Come along to see the new arrivals for yourselves.
