Forty Hall Farm market garden
Seasonal grower opportunity
Forty Hall Farm is recruiting a seasonal grower to work two days a week, helping to run our market garden. The post will be based here at the Farm in Enfield, for a six-month period running from the beginning of April to the end of September 2017.
Our market garden was established in 2013. Working on eight acres, mostly outdoors with a small amount of polytunnel space, we produce a wide range of salads and vegetables which are sold through our veg bag delivery scheme (Enfield Veg Co.), our onsite farm shop and wholesale.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to help with day-to-day growing tasks. The position will be two days a week, a Wednesday and a Thursday, from 08.30 to 17.00 with an hour for lunch. It is a temporary position, beginning in early April 2017 for six months.
The main tasks of the job will be:
- To assist with a wide range of growing tasks including seed sowing, planting out, weeding, plant care and harvest.
- To work independently and as part of the market garden team on the above tasks.
- To occasionally help with the packing of our weekly veg bags, as and when support is needed.
